Overview and Charter
This is a community-service website where we are all able to contribute to the overall development of ourselves, our colleagues and our profession.
Coaching Tools and Resources is the first place both new and experienced coaches and similar helping professionals visit when looking for the materials, tools, forms, techniques and other resources they need to support the ongoing development of themselves and the clients they serve.
To make this site the richest resource portal it can possibly be, we need your assistance. Please read Our Charter and also explore the information about membership below.
If you are interested in submitting items for inclusion in CTAR please read the CTAR Writing and Submission Guidelines.
Membership
“Membership” means two things. First, it’s an acknowledgement that you are part of the coaching profession or are a similar helping professional. Second, it is agreeing that you want to be kept up to date with additions and changes to this site and that you’d also like the opportunity to engage with and support your colleagues here. There is no cost to membership. You simply set up a new account on the Sign In link above and enter your desired username and email address. This adds you to our mailing list and also allows you to do the following:
- Reviewing and rating content – All of our entries on this site include an opportunity to rate the resource and/or write a comment about the resource. Members are invited and encouraged to help us collectively evaluate tools and resources which can make it easier for our colleagues to search through the information and find things that are of the highest quality and most relevant and useful to their needs.
- Recommending content – We have a team of researchers who scour the internet, publications and the media looking for relevant coaching tools and resources for you. We’d love your help with this! If you know of a website, schools, professional coaching body, tool, resource or anything you feel would be useful for the coaching profession to know about, please share this information with us through the Recommend/Contact page.
Please keep in mind the following when you do this:
- Your Stuff – It’s important you tell us if the site or resource you’re recommending is your own and/or if you have some form of commercial relationship such as an affiliate. We recognise the importance of being able to promote commercial interests and we also respect the needs of our community that the Coaching Tools and Resources site is about information, support and education regardless of any commercial interest. We’re actively looking for resources, tools, blogs, articles, multi-media, education, forms, support services, etc. We will not list your site if you are simply promoting coaching services as there are other directory services that perform that function well. However, if you are providing pro-bono (or community-minded reduced-rates) coaching services to coaches or the general public, we would be happy to list you on our Free Services page.
- Other People’s Stuff – We welcome any links you’d like to share with us of sites that you have found valuable in one way or another. If you feel it is appropriate and ethical to seek permission from the owners of the site before sharing the information with us, please follow through on that responsibility. We also will make contact with sites we add to our service to advise them and ensure they have an opportunity to share their thoughts with us and discuss their needs and preferences.
- We will always research and vet recommendations to the best of our ability, seek out feedback from others and where appropriate and ethical to do so we reserve the right to not post the information.
- Feedback – We’re coaches too and we love feedback! You are invited and encouraged to provide us any constructive feedback about any part of this site, how we run it and/or how we are operating as business and industry leaders. You can share your thoughts with us through the Recommend/Contact page. We will always provide a personal reply with 24-48 hours.
Search Tips
Searching for tools and resources is very simple and we’ve designed two options for you.
- Simple Search – On the Home page, you can simply type in one or more keywords into the search field, click “Search” and try your luck.
- Advanced Search – Or you can click on “Advanced Search” and enter keywords and phrases and search by the categories we sort information. You can even choose the media type you’d like the information presented in. Advanced searches can be useful if you’re not entirely sure what sort of keywords to enter as you can scroll through our categories which might provide you some clarity about what to call the resource you’re looking for.
