SOMETHING NEW AND INTERESTING

A colleague sent me an interesting article on "The End of Management" (Wall Street Journal) that I thought would be useful to share with you.

I do a lot of my coaching work with businesses, from the very small one-person operations to the super-large international corporations, and most of them have something in common - being "stuck" in last century's paradigm of what it means to be a manager or a leader (and the two are very different by the way!).

I love the creativity and innovative focused questions that begin with the words, "What if...?"

Companies and individuals stuck in old management paradigms often find those sorts of coaching questions really uncomfortable, and sometimes they just shut them down.

Individuals willing to consider that there's always a new, different and/or better way of doing something typically enjoy the "What if...?" questions.

Have a read of the article and consider how it applies to you, the company you work for, the companies you coach or whatever perspective happens to be most relevant for you.
